The trunk. The very old walnut trunk was located in Buchschachen in Burgenland and had already become dangerous for the nearby house due to numerous rotten spots at the base of the trunk.
The trunk, which is more than 95 years old, is rare and unique in its appearance, size and now also in its final form.
The craft. After cutting at the Topler sawmill in Oberwart, the individual posts were air-dried for 4 years. Then dried for 6 months in the drying chamber to a wood moisture content of 9%. The raw material was planed and glued mirrored.
Symmetries were sought in the color and in the annual rings to achieve a harmonious appearance.
The contour of the trunk made it possible to fill the inner middle section with characteristic black epoxy due to the bend.
Unique. The table is timeless in its final form and design, yet has a highly modern look.
